Frequently asked questions.

Common questions about water damage, drying timelines, insurance, and what to expect when you call us.

How fast can you get here?

We answer 24/7 and dispatch a crew as quickly as possible. We will keep you updated on timing and work around your schedule. We follow IICRC-recommended response times and stay in open communication with you and your insurance carrier throughout.

Is the inspection really free?

Yes, for homeowners. Inspections covering more than one unit, such as apartments or condos, may carry a fee.

Do I need to call my insurance first?

No. You can call us first so drying starts right away, then file your claim. Just do not wait on either.

Will insurance cover this?

Sudden and accidental water damage is covered by most homeowner policies. Gradual leaks, flooding from outside, and lack of maintenance often are not. Your adjuster makes the final call, and we will provide the documentation they need.

Do you bill my insurance directly?

Yes. You pay your deductible and anything not covered.

How long does drying take?

Most clean water losses dry in 3 to 5 days. Hardwood, concrete, and large losses can take longer.

Why is the equipment so loud, and can I turn it off at night?

Please leave it running. Turning it off stops drying and can extend your timeline by days.

Do you have to tear out my walls and floors?

Not always. We dry in place whenever we can. Materials are removed when they cannot be dried, when they are contaminated, or when keeping them would risk mold.

Can I stay in my home?

Usually, yes. If there is sewage, extensive mold, or no working kitchen or bathroom, your policy may cover temporary housing. Check with your adjuster.

Do you do the repairs too?

Yes. Our repair team handles drywall, flooring, paint, cabinets, countertops, tile, and more.

Can I pick my own restoration company?

Yes. It is your home and your choice, even if your insurance suggests someone else.

What if I do not have insurance?

We will give you a clear estimate and talk through the most cost-effective way to get your home dry and repaired.

What is an ITEL sample, and why do you take one?

ITEL is an independent lab that identifies and values your existing flooring. We take a small sample and mail it to them. Their report tells your insurance company exactly what you had and what it costs to replace it — so your estimate is based on your actual floors, not a generic substitute.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We handle both residential and commercial water damage, mold remediation, and restoration.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Se habla español.

What areas do you serve?

Snohomish and King County.

What certifications do your technicians hold?

Our technicians are IICRC-certified in Water Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD). We are licensed, bonded, and insured.

I am already a client. How do I reach my project manager?

Use our client contact form or call the office. Allison Noriega manages mitigation and remediation projects (admin@ampmwaterdr.com). Cady Carter manages repairs (restoration@ampmwaterdr.com).
